Decomposes deliverables using nouns — WHAT will be produced.
Level 0 — The project
Level 1 — Major deliverables (e.g. Planning, Execution)
Level 2 — Sub-deliverables (e.g. Project Charter)
Level 3 — Work packages (e.g. Charter draft)
WBS = WHAT (deliverables, nouns)
PBS = HOW (activities, tasks — verbs)
Each WBS deliverable maps to PBS activities needed to produce it.

Interest = how much they care about the outcome.
Influence = power to impact the project.
Activity — cost of one task [e.g. design sprint, workshop]
Work Package — sum of related activities
Control Account — groups WPs for EVM tracking
Contingency — buffer for known risks (typically 10–15%)
BAC — Budget at Completion, the approved baseline
Management Reserve — buffer for unknown risks (typically 5%)

The critical path is the longest chain of dependent tasks — it sets the minimum project duration.
